Customer Reviews

My wife and I recently went to Portage Park Breakfast Place and it turned out to be an excellent brunch spot. From the moment we walked in, all of the staff members were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. There's a genuine family feel to the place that immediately makes you feel comfortable and relaxed, which is something you don't always find. The food was outstanding. I ordered the carne asada skillet, and the steak was beautifully cooked tender, flavorful, and seasoned perfectly. You can tell care is put into how the food is prepared. I also tried the chilaquiles, which were really good and well balanced, not soggy and full of flavor. By the end of the meal, I found myself already planning my next visit because the four berry pancakes looked amazing and are definitely next on my list. They have a wide variety of brunch options, so there's something for everyone, including kid-friendly choices, which makes this a great spot for families. Since they recently opened, it's exciting to find a new local place that's already doing things right. The staff constantly checked in to see if we needed anything without being overbearing, which made the experience even better. Overall, this is definitely a spot worth visiting, and I'll be coming back again soon.

We saw some buzz about a new breakfast joint opening in the area so of course we had to check it out. The buzz was right because this is a perfect addition to the neighborhood! The Carne Asada Skillet had great flavor and tender meat. The El Burrito had so many different ingredients but it all mixed so well together. For the price, the portion sizes were really good as well. The owner was serving us and was so nice and sweet. The entire place was very bright, updated, and modern. It's surprisingly how big the restaurant actually is. You can't tell from the outside. We will DEFINITELY be back to try more from the menu!

I just want to give my kudos , though I do plan to come back to try the rest of the menu. Definitely loved the atmosphere but the presentation of food and the actual taste definitely matched. We had the following; - Jerk chicken sandwich that has softer seasoning compared to others and the sauce that's it's topped was a cherry on top. -buttermilk hotcakes w/berries - definitely a nice balance of sweetness and hotcakes were just chef kiss and fluffy. -chilaquiles w green salsa, the traditional seasoning that most are used to but the house made guac was a hit at my table along with the hint of like. Honestly we were just rotating plates the whole time we were there .
